מריש
מָרֵישm. (contr. of מארש, v. אָרַס; cmp. Targ. of מורשי, Job 17:11: לוחי) joist, beam (cmp. כְּשוּרָא). Gitt.V, 5 המ׳ הגזולוכ׳ an illegally taken joist which was placed in a group of buildings. B. Kam.66b (ref. to Gitt. l. c.) והרי מ׳ כשוראוכ׳ here is the case of the maresh (Where the stolen object changed its name), before it was placed it was named כשורא, and now it is טללא (ceiling); a. fr.Pl. מָרֵישוֹת. Ib. 67a, v. עוֹב. Y.B. Bath.I, beg.12d תיפתר ע׳׳י מָרֵישָׁיו it means (a protection) by means of its timber (roofing).
